Mulki, January 21st, 2015:  Anniversary celebrations of Mulki Billava Samaja Seva Sangha, Shri Narayanaguru Mahila Mandali and Guru Seva Dala, at Mulki Rukkarama Salian auditorium.  The president of the Sangha, Harishchandra P. State level dance competition organised in Padubidri
Padubidri, January 11th, 2015:  A state level dance competition "Dezire Dance Challenge-2015" was organised by Dezire Dance group. Padubidri, at the board school grounds on Saturday, January 10th.  A total of 15 teams took part in the competition from all over the state.  ZP member Githanjali Suvarna inaugurated the function.  Rtn. Padubidri "Dakke Bali" of 2015
Padubidri, January 21st, 2015:  The bi-annual Dakke Bali seve started at Padubidri Brahmasthana on Wednesday, 21st January 2015.  At Shri Khadgeshwari Brahmasthana's Vanadurga Kalyana Mantapa, Vanadurga dining hall (Bhojan Shala) was inaugurated by Krishnapur seer Shri Vidyasagara Tirtha Sripada.  It was built at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs.           More pictures

Padubidri, January 21st, 2015:  Installation ceremony of office bearers of JCI Padubidri for the year 2015-16 was held at Hotel Navrang Veg on Monday, January 19th.  Jc S. Divakar Hejmady took over from Jc. Balakrishna Devadiga as the new president of the club.  Hejmady Grama Panchayat president Vaman Kotian Nadikudru spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of JCI in preparing the youth in a positive manner. Senior leader Katapadikar Devidas Shenoy passes away
Padubidri, January 22nd, 2015:  Senior Congress leader Katapadikar Devidas Shenoy (87) passed away this morning at his residence in Padubidri.  He was the president of Padubidri Grama Panchayat during the period from 1967 to 1983 and he was also the first president of CA Sahakari Bank Okkoota of Padubidri, Hejmady and Palimar.  He was also a trustee of Padubidri Shri Mahalingeshwara Mahaganapati temple. He was the founder of Katapadikar Textiles in Paduidri.  He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and a daughter.
Padubidri Press team wins Repubolic Cup-2015 cricket tournament
Padubidri, Januiary 26th, 2015:  Padubidri Press team under the captaincy of journalist Hameed Padubidri won the Republic Cup-2015 cricket tournament organised by Rotary Club Padubidri on account of republic day.  Eight teams were invited to compete in the tournament, including Press team, Lions club, Rotary club, JCI, Police, People's representative and Bus agents teams.  In the finals, Padubidri Pess team defeated the Rotary club team and won the cup and a cash prize.  .......      Read more
K. Udayshankar Kamat from Kanjarkatte passes away
Padubidri, January 28th, 2015:  Inna Muddanu Shri Mahalingeshwara temple mangaement committee member and contractor K. Udayshankar Kamat (45) from Kanjarkette passed away on Wednesday, Januray 28th, at a private hospital in Mangalore.  He was taking  treatment for obesity and had undergone a surgery on Monday.  He was recovering from the surgery but on Wednesday morning his health deterioriated and was declared dead.  He was actively involved in various social service activities and was the founder president of Kadekunja Ayyappa temple.  He is survived by his wife and a son.
Padebettu Omayya Shetty passes away
Padubidri, February 1st, 2015:  Padebettu Shri Subrahmanya temple management advisory committee member and senior agriculturist Padebettu Omayya Shetty (76) passed away on Sunday morning at a private hospital in Mangalore after a brief period of illness.  Hailing from a Guttina family, he had started a Bhajana Mandali in Shri Subrahmanya temple around 50 years ago and was responsible for the smooth running of it till date.  He was the past vice president of Padubidr Buntara Sangha and was serving as the director in the management committee of Padebettu Djhoomavati temple.  He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
"Walk for widows" marathon from Mumbai to Bangalore arrives in Padubidri
Padubidri, February 3rd, 2015:  Chris Parsons' "Walk for widows" marathon from Mumbai to Bangalore to raise funds for widows from 15 countries around the world, arrived in Padubidri on Monday morning, February 2nd, 2015.  It was welcomed at Hotel Navrang Veg by its owner Y:. Sukumar. Chris Parsons is a lawyer with an international law firm. He will be attempting to walk 30 marathons in 30 days from Mumbai to  Bangalore. Padubidri, February 12th, 2015:  Around 16,000 devotees took part in "Anna Santarpane" and "Hore Kanike" procession for the Dakke Bali seve held on Wednesday, February 11th, offered by K. Two injured in a road accident between a car and a bus near Hejmady dhaba
Padubidri, February 23rd, 2015:  A service bus entering the highway from Hejmady inner road collided with a Maruti Swift car coming from Mulki on Monday morning near Hejmady djaba on Monday around 10 am. A bus hits two vehicles near Kolnad injuring 15 persons
Mulki, February 6th, 2015:  A bus had a head-on collision with a tempo and also collided with a mini lorry carrying gas cylinders while attempting to overtake a service bus stopped at the roadside near Kolnad petrol bunk on Thursday, March 5th. The driver Ramesh of the Vishal bus, mini lorry driver Mazmer Ahmed, passengers Manjula, Pavitra, Prasanna and Siddharth have been critically injured. Padubidri, March 9th, 2014:  A ten-year-old boy from Inna has proved that age is not a barrier for achievement.  He has become an expert in miniature clay art and has won many awards for his achievement.  Lawrence Pinto, son of Ligory and Jyothi PInto from Inna village, is a IVth standard student of Laxmi Janardhana school in Belman.

Padubidri, March 23rd, 2015:  Padubidri Chendu Utsava was held on March 22nd on account of Annual Rathotsava at Shri Mahalingeshwara Mahaganapathi temp[le.  Many youth took active part in the game.  Udupi district minister-in-charge Vjinay Kumar Sorake, Udupi DC R. Stolen car from Kinnimulky found abandoned in Padubidri
Padubidri, March 29th, 2015:  A Fiat Punto car stolen from Auto Point near Kinnimulky on Friday was found abandoned in Padubidri-Karkala road in front of Vikram Wines. on Saturday.  It has fallen off from the state highway into the service road below.  It was stolen alongwith a Hyundai i10 car from the same locality.  The stolen car had no number plate at the rear and presumably abandoned after it ran out of fuel.  There is also a possibility thet ... In an unfortunate incident in Ermayi waterfall in Belthangady on Sunday, April 19th, Dhanush Acharya (23), son of Late Prakash Acharya, from Padubidri, slipped into the waterfall and drowned.  He is survived by his mother and two brothers.

One killed as an earthmover loaded on a tipper falls over a car
Padubidri, April 27th, 2015:  A "HItachi" earthmover loaded on a tipper toppled along with the truck and fell over a Maruti Dzire car on NH-66 near Garodi in Yermal Tenka on Monday, April 27th evening, at around 6.10 pm. Increase in Malaria cases in Mulki during the month of May, 2015
Mulki, May 30th, 2015:  There has been an increase in malaria cases in Mulki, found mainly in construction workers of Mulki town panchayat juridiction.  The disease is more rampant among migrant workers from the northern parts of the state and from northern India, living mainly in the slum area of Lingapiahana Kadu.  Four deaths have been reported so far and 51 people have been admitted in the local communiy ....   Read more

Finally four-lane NH-66 to pass through existing route in Padubidri Pete - Newspaper notice issued
Padubidri, June 24th, 2015:  After many years of uncertainity over the existing highway passing through congested Padubidri Pete, the NHAI has finally taken a  decfision.  The NH-66 will be widened on the existing route itself, affecting a large number of shops and houses..  A notice has been issued by NHAI through local Kannada daily "Udayavani" to a total of 210 survey numbers in Padubidri, consisting of shops, banks, post office, medical facilities, hotels & restaurants and residential houses.  Affected people are given a 21 days time limit to file objections.    With this, the entire picture of Padubidri's busy pete area is going to change.  People dependent on Padubidri town are worried about their future and affected shop owners say they can not afford new premises due to high cost.
