Suzlon lockout issue - meeting postponed
Padubidri, Nov.28, 2017:  Meeting held on Tuesday to resolve the lockout issue of Suzlon Engery's rotor blade manufacturing unit in Padubidei, ended without any results and has been postponed for Wednesday.  The unit had suspended its operations and had announced lockout on Novemebr 14th.
The meeting was held between Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, INTUC leaders, Suzlon's corporate chief Vijay Asnani and other officials, and the workers.  Failing to agree to the tough conditions put forward by the company, the meeting was postpooned to Wednesday morning.  Mr. Asnani said that the company is facing acute financial difficulties and it is not possible to offer any new assurances to the workers.  Also the workers can not demand increment if the operations have to be resumed. "The workers should work as per company's directives and they will be held responsible for any lapses.  Action will be taken against those 16 workers who were responsible for the losses in the past," he said.  The conditions was rejected by the workers and the meeting was postpooned to Wednesday.

Kaup Block Congress president Naveenchandra J. Shetty said that if the company is incurring losses then let them return the land acqquired by them.  He alleged that the company is trying to take advantage of the acquired land through real estate business.

INTUC district president Ganesh KOtian, DK district president Manohar Shetty, State secretary Abubakkar, Taluk panchayat member Dinesh Kotian, ASPEN chief Ashok Kumar Shetty, Suzon officials Dakshnamurthy, Philips, Police Circle Inspector Halamurthy Rao, SI Sathish and others were present.

Suzlon officials had denied entry to the media persons to cover the proceedings of the meeting.
